Evening/Weekend On-Call Veterinary Assistant-Equine

Sound Equine Veterinary Hospital is the Western Puget Sound’s only full service 24/7 equine hospital. We are one of the largest referral hospitals in the area with board-certified specialists in surgery and internal medicine. We have a large field service team servicing horses on farms throughout the region. As an on-call veterinary assistant, your responsibilities include being available and ready for on-call emergency duty in the evenings from 8:00 pm-8:00 am or on the weekends from 8:00 am-8:00 pm or 8:00 pm-8:00 am. As, well as patient intake, medical documentation, restraining patients, performing treatments, assisting in procedures, performing diagnostic testing, preparing and administering medications and housekeeping. Strong communication between the on-call VA and the on-call DVM is necessary.
We cross-train our staff and work as a team, so you will have opportunities to learn and work in other areas of our hospital. All on-call shifts receive an additional $50.00 on-call bonus.
Excellent customer service skills, computer skills, and horse handling knowledge are vital to this role. A Valid driver's license is essential. Previous experience as a veterinary assistant in an equine setting is a plus
