Canine:
DAPP given every three years until +/- 10 yrs of age, at which time it becomes optional.
*Leptospirosis – all dogs are considered at risk (urban, rural) and should be vaccinated. Two vaccines given 2 – 4 weeks apart initially, then yearly boosters.
*Bordetella – Initial Bordetella is intranasal given no earlier than 8 wks of age, then an injectable booster in 3 – 4 wks. Required for any boarding facility or puppy day care.
**Rabies – Initial Rabies vaccine is given at or after 14 weeks of age, followed by a booster one year later, then every three years thereafter. Proof is necessary for traveling across Canadian border.
Feline:
FRCP- (Herpesvirus, Calcivirus, Panleukopenia)-Ages 6 weeks, 10 weeks, & 14 weeks, given every 3 years thereafter
FeLV-(Feline Leukemia)-Ages 10 weeks and 14 weeks, given every 2 years thereafter
Rabies-Ages 14 weeks (good for 1 year), boostered after 1 year then every 3 years thereafter
FRCP discontinues after +/- 10 years of age
*For cats that are strictly indoors, no FeLV vaccination is recommended.
