Do you handle emergencies?

We provide emergency services 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Call the clinic, 360-779-5557, to talk with our staff during clinic hours or follow the emergency instructions to have the doctor on call paged.

What are your hours?

Regular hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Saturday in clinic by appointment only 9:00 - 12:30. After-hours emergencies are handled 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

Where are you located?

Our equine hospital is in Poulsbo, at 5065 NE Lincoln RD, near the intersection of Lincoln and Port Gamble RD. Driving directions can be found on our Home page. We also provide ambulatory farm call service to the West Sound Region.

Can my sick horse stay at your clinic for daily care?

Yes. In addition to emergency and critical care cases, we offer concurrent out-patient exams and drop off appointments to fit your schedule.

We live a considerable distance from Poulsbo. How do you arrange for service calls?

We service the West Sound Region. Call our clinic office to schedule a farm call or to be seen after hours if you have an emergency (360.779.5557). There is a farm call fee if we travel to you. Some of our clients group their appointments at one location and share the farm call fee.

Can I drop my horse off at the clinic to be seen during the day while I am at work?

Yes. We welcome drop offs during our regular working hours for routine appointments as well as for dental floats, surgeries, therapies, etc. There is a $20.00 drop off fee. Additional charges would apply for overnight care.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept checks, Visa or MasterCard and cash. We also participate in CareCredit. Payment is required at the time of service. Any billing or credit terms must be approved in advance by calling the office and talking with the Practice Manager.

Do you charge an emergency fee?

Daytime emergencies often require rescheduling another client's appointment or extending the doctor's work day, or both. If these situations occur, we charge an emergency fee.

What do I need to know about Sound Equine?

I like my current vet but I can’t get some of the diagnostic or therapy services that your practice provides. Do you work with vets outside of your practice?

Yes. We are happy to work with your veterinarian on a referral basis, in the field or for in hospital care, with any of our updated services and therapies. We are committed to offering our referring doctors the highest standard of coordinated care possible, as well as timely communication and detailed discharge instructions to help with transition from our care.
